We wanted a contemporary, wildlife friendly garden with lots of planting space and plants. Rajul designed a beautiful garden that we are really pleased with. This design was inspired by contemporary Dutch garden designs. A strong, asymmetric layout with clean lines is softened by swathes of prairie-style planting, suited to the garden’s dry, sandy soil. The existing Larch deck has been extended in an L-shape to provide additional entertaining space, with naturalistic, flower-filled beds around it. An informal gravel garden with a wildlife pond and room for a bistro set has replaced the old patio. The lawn area is surrounded by generous borders filled with drought-tolerant grasses and perennials that offer year-round interest and a haven for wildlife.
