Bacton, Suffolk
This walled courtyard garden was designed to provide a private space within the grounds of a traditional Suffolk sixteenth century house. The walls were constructed with arched windows allowing you to peek through into the kitchen garden beyond. A reclaimed mill stone was used for the central water feature in the centre of the sandstone terrace. The planting mixes the formality of clipped Box cones, with the informality of exuberant, long-flowering perennials, and the client’s contemporary furniture adds a vibrant pop of colour.
