Waldeck Road, Norwich

This long, narrow, terraced house back garden lacked interest and structure, with no defined space where my client could sit and enjoy simply being in the garden. My design zoned this long garden into three areas. Diagonally-laid slate-look porcelain pavers make the garden look wider.

At the back, a new summer house is fronted by a paved area for relaxed seating. A short path leads through the central area, flanked by oak raised beds filled with flowering shrubs, perennials and bulbs, and two cherry blossom trees. The area closest to the house provides space for a bistro table and chairs, as well as screened bin storage. An oak pergola creates a welcoming entrance to the garden at the end of the shared passage, as well as a frame for the existing Wisteria.
